Intro

Hey guys, it's Ray again. Was feeling a bit burnt out making my next video, so I thought I'd try something different and take you on a little tour of one of the places I go to escape the hustle and bustle of downtown Bangkok, get some fresh air, get some nature, and clear my head. I think you could see it over there. I can't really tell because there's no screen on this camera I'm using right now, but it's Benchakitti Park. I remember that name by imagining somebody bench pressing a kitty. I'll put a visual up there. It's a nice park, it's nearby, right in the middle of the city, and it's a nice break from all the traffic and chaos. So let's go!

How To Get There

We are trying to find Ben Park from the BTS, going to get off that station and head to exit four.

Walking There & Entrance

Right before the entrance, there's a lot of street food, some fresh fruits, coconut, and some cold drinks, some meats. Okay, so we're getting to the entrance now. So we're at the entrance of Ben Park, and what I find really funny is that it's called Benchakitti Park, but right across from it is a dog park. So yeah, I just thought it was funny that the name Benchakitti has "kitty" in the name but has a dog park.

Lake & Paths

The first thing to note is this lake, and on the end there you could see a giant rubber ducky. Another thing you'll notice is that the noise has died down significantly from all the traffic, so that's a nice change of pace. Another good thing about this place is there's dedicated paths for both walking and cycling and running. It's really nice if you are into those kinds of fitness things. You've got a dedicated place right in the city with nature, fresh air, and dedicated lanes. Great backdrop, you can see the water and the skyline, and a lot of people taking pictures out here.

Statue & Forest

There's a sculpture called Aami, a symbol of prosperity and cultural richness. Now we're going into the green, off the beaten path. The next feature I want to show you is what they call the Skywalk. I haven't been there in a while, so it'll be nice to check out again. I love these really old trees with these crazy roots. You don't see that in Toronto very much. Throughout Bangkok, you're going to see these FES, and it's no different in the park. You see them pretty much everywhere, in buildings, outside of buildings, places where you could make offerings. Another altar or shrine.

Skywalk & Platform

I had to switch cameras, which is unfortunate—the Insta 360 Go keeps overheating, so we're going with my regular phone. At the entrance of the Skywalk, let's take a look. Another thing I like about this place is these lily pads. I don't know why, it's just picturesque. Check out this path over here; you can walk among those lily pads, and there's a lot of frogs as well. Love this view. Oh man, it is hot! I don't know if I'll survive this one. Hit a dead end, but there's actually multiple paths for the Skywalk. It's just way too hot today. I'll try to show you one more thing and then we'll head out.

Rubber Ducky & Conclusion

This is another highlight of Benchakitti Park: this big circular platform that launches out into the lake. Check this out—you've got the rubber ducky boats. Let's take a little tour around here. Good place for a picture. It's a scorcher right now! I saw a tweet the other day where people in the UK are passing out and saying they're going through a heat wave, and it was 26°. So we're back at the beginning, and that's the conclusion of this tour. It is way too hot now. I feel a lot better after taking that walk. It's time to go home and get back to YouTube. Hope you enjoyed that! If you did, don't forget to hit like, subscribe, and comment down below. All right, peace out. Nomaditsu.
