As you saw in my last video, I was so impressed with Kling AI that I started to go through puberty again and my voice started cracking. I was excited to see that to kick off their subscriptions, they were offering 50% off their plans. Just by seeing these plans, I knew intuitively that this was the best deal in AI, but then I was like, wait, I got to be a responsible YouTuber. I can't just claim this is the best AI deal of the century. I got to back it up. But how do you go about that?

Defining the Best Deal

At first, I thought okay, I got to just do some price comparisons, feature comparison, and we'll be done. But then I realized no, the first step is we got to define what the best deal is. So I came up with this simple definition: the best deal in AI would be the deal that lets us generate the highest quality AI videos and the highest quantity at the lowest price. I boiled it down to three aspects: access, quality (coherence), and quantity (total seconds of video per dollar).

Top Contenders

Who are the top AI video contenders? Based on my research and experience, I narrowed it down to five platforms: Sora, Kling, Runway, Pika, and Luma. AI moves so fast that by the time I publish this, a new competitor might blow these out of the water.

Access & Quality

All are easy to access except Sora, which is disqualified. Sora is probably the best in terms of quality, but because we can't actually use it, it gets the boot. Next, quality: I focus on coherence. Previous models had issues with melting visuals, but the latest versions are much better. Sora sets the benchmark, but Kling and Runway are the most coherent and realistic. Pika looks more animated, and Luma is a bit CG with some morphing, but still impressive.

Quantity & Value

To figure out quantity, I used Notion to compare how much video you get per dollar. I created a Notion database to track all the info on different subscriptions. The best overall value is a tie between Kling and Runway if you generate 19 minutes or less of video. For unlimited video, Runway wins. Factoring in sales, Kling wins best value with 50% off. For free accounts, Kling is the king, offering generous daily credits. Runway is a distant second.
